Heroin and Pharmacuetical Opioid-Related Harms in Victoria - The Age

Researchers from the Monash Addiction Research Centre (MARC) analysed Ambulance call-outs and Emergency Department presentations with opioid-related harms from 2012 to 2018. A key finding from this study was an increase in heroin related harms corresponding to the reformulation of oxycodone in 2014. This reformulation was designed to reduce misuse of prescribed oxycodone through injection and snorting. The study and its findings were featured in The Age and you can access the published article in Addiction.
